Examinations
Learners book examinations online and exams can be written at any one of the 45 Pearson Vue testing centres at Boston City Campuses in South Africa. There is no required order within which to complete the tests and learners can take each sub-test individually.
Examination fees are approximately 80 US Dollars per subject. (2022 prices)
In the event that a learner does not pass an exam they can retake the exam two additional times at any time without a wait. Should a learner fail three times – they will have to wait 60 days to rewrite.
Majority of GED® questions are multiple choice, there are “technology-enhanced” questions that require the test taker to interact with a computer.
Four types of technology questions:
1. Drag and Drop
2. Hot Spot Questions
3. Drop Down
4. Fill in the blanks
Upon successful completion of the GED, learners are awarded a GED High School equivalency certificate (Diploma). This is issued by Office of the State of the Superintendent of Education in Washington D.C. with an official transcript.
